Hello! I'm a writer, journalist, entrepreneur and co-author of MIXED UP: Confessions of an Interracial Couple published by Headline in April, 2021.

You can find me writing on race and relationships in outlets such as The Guardian, The Independent, Huffington Post, The I paper, Elle, Grazia and many more.

Prior to writing MIXED UP, my journey of discussing race and relationships started In 2017, When my husband, Alex and I founded Huetribe, a UK greetings card company aimed at promoting diverse representation on cards but predominantly focused towards interracial couples. Huetribe cards are carried and stocked in high street stores such as WHSmith, Scribbler and Tesco starting this summer.

I currently serve as a Council member for the UK Greeting Card Association and as part of their diversity subcommittee. And I speak on racial issues and provide diversity consultant services to several companies.

Occasionally, I freelance as communications consultant to the United Nations and as a Press Officer for the United Nations Human Rights Committee.  I have led communication programmes and worked on high profile campaigns such as World Refugee Day for the U.N. as well.

In another life, I worked in PR and content management for top communication agencies and as a journalist with a focus on technology.

Fun facts about me: I love working from the bed (doesn't everyone?)  I really love animals even though I'm allergic to them and I trained as a ballet dancer but never went professional. I still take classes and love doing it.

You can find me sharing updates about my book, ranting about racism and everyday life on instagram via @thisistineka

Currently working on Book #2 - wish me luck!
